One of the most popular party themes for girls is Disney Princesses. Choose just one as a theme or go for the whole Disney Princess range!

The Disney Princess brand incorporates different princesses from Disney films. Aimed at little girls, the range includes dolls, toys and clothing as well as party supplies and costumes.

Who are the Disney Princesses?

  • Snow White
  • Cinderella
  • Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
  • Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
  • Belle (Beauty and the Beast)
  • Jasmine (Aladdin)
  • Mulan
  • Pocahontas
  • Tiana (The Princess and the Frog)
  • Rapunzel is due to be the forthcoming tenth princess

Disney Princess Party Supplies

There are many official party supplies available, from general designs to Disney Princess Fairytale. Examples include plates, cups, banners, balloons, party favors, cake toppers and gifts.

These can be supplemented with generic pink or princess party items, and princess themes such as crowns, tiaras or anything sparkly!

Disney Princess Party Invitations

There are official invitations and thank you cards available, or get creative and make handmade ones. Ideas include magical scrolls announcing a princess party, a glittery card in the shape of a crown, or something themed around the birthday girl’s favorite princess, for example a fish invitation for Ariel or apple for Snow White!

Disney Princess Party Food

Yummy party food suggestions include:

  • Cookies and biscuits in the shape of frogs (Tiana), starfish (Ariel), mice (Cinderella), fairy wands (Aurora), crowns, hearts and stars
  • Finger food displayed in unusual containers, such as sweet little teacups, miniature flower baskets or goblets. Or arrange food into princess shapes!
  • Little cupcakes topped with pretty icing, glittery sprinkles or a Disney Princess cake topper
  • A Disney Princess birthday cake –create one using fondant icing or get a little help from a Disney Princess cake topper kit. Ideas for cake shapes include a fairytale castle, crown or picture of a princess
  • Specific themes for princess food could include Cinderella’s Pumpkin Pie, Belle’s Enchanted Tea Cakes, or Snow White’s Apple Delight

Disney Princess Party Games

Get little princesses playing happily with these game ideas:

  • Snow White Apple Bobbing
  • Cinderella’s Glass Slipper – customize a child’s shoe with glitter and stick-on jewels, and award a prize to the child whose foot best fits the slipper!
  • Musical Tiaras – place tiaras (real or cardboard) on chairs and get children to put a tiara on as well as sit on a chair when the music stops
  • Who Am I? Print out a picture of each princess and stick them to the forehead of each child without them seeing who it is. They take it in turns to ask yes or no questions about who they are, until they guess. If you have more guests than princesses, print out supporting cast as well!

Disney Princess Activities and Crafts

A superb way to surprise the birthday girl is with an Enchanted Call from Disney, where parents can select one of the Disney Princesses to give their child a phone call. This could well be the highlight of the party!

Other ideas include:

  • Face Painting – add pretty hearts, swirls, stars and other symbols with a hint of sparkle
  • Royal Locks – give each guest a fancy hairdo by putting it up with flower clips, glittery slides and topping with a tiara
  • Create and Make – provide materials to make a crown, tiara, wand or other princess accessory, princess frames, boxes or cards
  • Royal Jewels – provide materials to make princess jewelry from beads and jewelry cord
  • Pretty Princesses – have fun announcing each princess guest as she arrives, hold a princess crowning event, run a princess awards ceremony or hold a princess ball

Free Disney Princess Printables

The official Disney Princess website has free printables available, including coloring pages and activity sheets, which can be used as party activities; stickers, which can be printed onto sticker paper and use as favors or prizes, and even constructibles, which can be used as party crafts!

Disney Princess Party Favors

Provide Disney Princess candy, stickers, small toys, trinkets, sparkly jewelry or charms in party bags or boxes. Alternatively, create a paper mache piñata in the shape of a glass slipper, castle or crown, and fill with goodies ready for the guests to bash open.

Disney Princess Costumes and Accessories

There are plenty of Disney costumes to choose if the party is fancy dress. Suggest children come as their favorite princess, either wearing a Disney outfit or customizing clothes into ball gowns and princess frocks. Costume jewelry and pretty crowns could be provided to add to the fun, or get them making their own accessories.

The possibilities for a Disney Princess party are endless, and with so many fairytale options to choose from, one party may turn into several!
